PlayStation fans have been calling for this ever since Game Pass launched. Right now, the Xbox Game Pass library has about 475 games, but that tally comprises the library across both tiers, including the 92 games currently part of EA Play. The third tier is apparently going to do all of that, while adding in PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP games alongside "extended" demos - whatever that means - and game streaming, as per Now. The second tier would be one with a massive catalogue of PS4 games, with PS5 games set to be added in the future. Welcome to PlayStation Plus Enjoy hundreds of PS5, PS4 and classic PlayStation games, and unmissable benefits from three great value membership plans that unleash the power of your PlayStation console. It remains to be seen if any of those features would be taken away. A basic version would apparently be your standard PlayStation Plus subscription that allows access to online functionality, cloud saving, discounts on the store, and monthly games. Microsoft does not offer a yearly subscription, but even if you buy the six-month plan twice, you will save a handful of money. Meanwhile, Game Pass costs Rs 349 a month, Rs 1,049 for three months, and the six-month plan costs Rs 2,099. Now, allegedly, this service is going to a three-tier system. The PlayStation Plus Extra comes at Rs 749 per month, Rs 1,999 quarterly and Rs 4,999 for a year.
This would come at the cost of the PlayStation Now brand, but create a library of games that might rival Xbox Game Pass -if not in quantity, then certainly quality. Jason Schrier's Bloomberg report claims that the new Plus and Now service - supposedly codenamed "Spartacus" - is set for Spring 2022.
